This is getting out of control.

Alabama has a men's basketball player named Senario Hillman. Senario. Pronounced like "scenario." Not sen-AHR-ee-oh, but sen-AIR-ee-oh.

When is this going to end, people?! When will birth mothers stand up and say, "Sure, this sounds like a pretty word, but does that mean I should use it for my new baby's name? No!"

The thing is, AA folks can get away with giving their kids names like that. Imagine how much a white kid named Senario would be teased.

        That ain't nuthin'.

I think I've said this a dozen times, but my favorite was a family at my son's school who thought they named their daughter Anastasia, but wanted to use a unique spelling and ended up with Anesthesia. I honestly think they originally had no idea what they'd spelled.

How about being named Orangejello or Lemonjello?

I have 2 friends that don't know each other claim to have come across these twins.

I taught a kid on my mission whose legal name was Jesus Allows Me Everlasting Love. He went by the acronym J.A.M.E.L.

Also taught a Hispanic family who named their boy Elder because they were so smitten with the missionaries who used to visit them in Mexico.

And finally from the wonderful city of Sanford, CO, comes a family of nine who named their "last" child Aldon (pronounced All Done). However, mama got pregnant with number 10 and they decided to name their daughter Surprise.

Sanford? Wow they sent you to the boonies. Did you at least make a pilgrimage to Manassa?

I lived in Manassa and covered Sanford. You can go to the Jack Dempsey museum there. I was all over the San Luis Valley. I can't believe you've heard of it. It's the weirdest little alpine valley in the world. Settled by Mormons. Sanford in fact has like 750 people and 700 of them are active LDS. They had two freaking wards in a town of 750. Crazy. They did elect the mayor though is not LDS.

I lived in Denver for 10+ years and spend time all over Colorado. The sand dunes are cool. And don't they have an alligator farm down there? Plus it's like the UFO capital of the world.
