    American Justice Quotes

So, my FIL has to say a few words at a ceremony where a new judge will be sworn in. He asked me if I knew of any good quotes in regards to the American Judicial System...or something similar.

Given that we have so many lawyers on the board, I was just wondering if there were any good resources for quotes he could potentially use.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

      A few favorites:

People who love sausage and people who believe in justice should never watch either of them being made. - Otto Bismark

A jury consists of twelve persons chosen to decide who has the better lawyer. - Robert Frost

Law: the only game where the best players get to sit on the bench. - Author Unknown
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

You can always count on Twain for a good quote. I knew he had said something and a quick google search came up with these:

"Lawyers are like other people--fools on the average; but it is easier for an ass to succeed in that trade than any other."

"To succeed in other trades, capacity must be shown; in the law, concealment of it will do."
