Why the heck were we so many people being stalked in the 80s? And why was everyone ok with this? Is the blind girl also deaf, she doesn't seem to notice the linen jacketed, Jheri curled, creeper singing 6 inches away? She must have had her own Anne Sullivan.

Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

        Whatcha talkin about Willis?

Actually, I didn't forget it. I just accidentally trimmed it off when I was cutting and pasting. Police Synchronicity is one of my all time favorite albums. I went through at least 4 or 5 cassettes (wow those things sucked) in Jr. High and HS.

I stumbled across this on the interwebs today.

Has there ever been a more depressing ending to a teen movie than the early 80s Last American Virgin? For those who haven't seen it (pretty much anyone 35 or younger), Gary the lovable loser is hot for Karen (Diane Franklin), but she only has eyes for his friend Rick (a player). Rick gets Karen pregnant then dumps her (I told you he was a player). Gary pays for Karen's abortion (ok, not all movies were family friendly in the 80s). Gary and Karen temporarily hook up; he thinks it is Love. Gary decides to go find his new girl at the local party (mandatory scene in every 80s movie. Parents didn't exist, except when absolutely necessary for all of the 80s). That's when this happens....things never end well when Lionel Ritchie and The Commodores start playing.

What would happen to the pilot in this scenario:
Small airport. Not a lot of traffic on the tarmac
Pulls out of the gate, and gets onto the drive to the end of the runway. Guns it on the tarmac and takes off.

Lose license? Suspension? Cross talking to?
            I intend to live forever.
            So far, so good.

In what way are you a Vandelay?

                  I'll accept it.

As to consequences for the pilot - don't know.

I'm sure it depends on the airport. Some are tower controlled, some are not. Some are busier than others.

I took flying lessons at the Morgan airport. I think about half the time I was there the only other guy on the premise was the guy who sold the fuel and worked on planes there - which means he was usually in the office or in a hanger working on stuff. Which means that aside from the runway also being the tarmac that you taxi down to get to the right end to take off, I'm not sure anyone would've noticed, much less that there would be consequences.

The bigger issue might be making the call on the radio that you're taking off - just so that you aren't entering into space where another airplane is also headed.

I forgot this thread ever existed. It was obviously started soon after I joined CUF. DH hadn't yet bullied me out of using color in my posts.

But I did passive-aggressively bully you into changing your hypothetical.

Yeah. Considering the number of people in my life trying to bully me, it’s probably time i take a look in the mirror. Much like Daniel Russo, when it’s gets to the point where teenagers and adults are picking on you - on multiple continents- its wise to self-evaluate why everyone hates you.
