Disneyland questions

I posted something about this somewhere else but I'm too lazy to find the thread...

We're headed to Disneyland tomorrow. We're coming back on Saturday (I have to work Sat night). Kids are 14, 8, 5 and barely 3 (turned 3 last month).

1) Would you get the 2-day or 3-day Park Hopper pass?
2) Under 3 is free. 3-9 costs $149 for the 3-day pass. Is a lesson on honesty worth $149? I could also bypass the lesson by checking in with the 3-yr old separately--my integrity's most certainly not worth $149. What would you do? (Everyone feel free to answer this, even if you don't have anything to add to the thread--I'm curious about the consensus)

Costco seems to have a good deal on disneyland tix.. As I recall, it was a 2 (maybe 3) day park hopper pass and then a pass to universal studios, sea world and san diego zoo. I seem to recall that it was about 149 for kids and 210 for adults...

What I do out of the ordinary or that some people miss,

First ride is Small World
See the Tiki Room every visit
Play ditch em on Tom Sawyers Island (now pirates lair or something)
Monsters Inc is a great kid ride and is walk on and go
Take the train on a full tour around disneyland, ask to sit in Walt's seats in the front, caution! it is hot up there and you have to do the full trip, but it is a fun experience. you need to at least experience the grand canyon.
Walk through sleeping beauty in the castle. It hadn't been open for a while but it opened in January.
Shoot at the shooting arcade


Food,

Blue Bayou is fun atmosphere, food is okay to good.
Corn Dog end of main street is life changing.
Churros eat lots of them
Funnel cakes in frontier land.
fritters at new orleans square

Legoland is very small, but if your kids are into legos, they have a ton of cool things built out of them.

Seaworld is cool, I like that.

I'd say two at Disneyland, unless your kids are old enough to appreciate California Adventure. Then do 3 days at Disneyland.

EDIT: Looking at your kids' ages, you should be fine spending 3 days at Disneyland. Plenty to do there.

I concur. 3 days gives you plenty of time to get your fill of the rides and not feel rushed around. I won't go for less than 3 days anymore.

Yep. Nothing makes a vacation feel less like a vacation than having to rush from attraction to attraction to fit everything in before you leave.

Unlike my MIL, I get my "money's worth" on a vacation when I feel like I'm having a good, stress-free time. She, on the other hand, feels like she gets her money's worth when she starts at 8 am and doesn't stop running from ride to ride until 10pm becuase if we stop we might not get to to this and that and we only come here every so often and we need to make the most of it and how can you be tired we've only been going for 4 hours and who needs to eat eating just takes time that we could be spending on rides . . ..

Tell your wife teh prices Dland charges for food are criminal. So much so that fiunally, after your entire life, two wrongs DO make a right. Tell them the kid is two.

If you are staying at the park, I would do a 3 day pass. Otherwise, I woudlnt

I would add that you need to try a turkey leg at the end of main street. Also the Dole Pineapple float next to the Tiki Room.

Here is a friendly tip on Disneyland: The gays typically self-identify by wearing bright red. While this will only typically matter on the two or three days that gay people visit the park en masse, it might be a good idea not to wear bright red. Of course the other benefit of not wearing bright red is that you will not be mistaken for a Ute or a Sooner.

Oooh...good one. I don't want to catch the gay. Or let my kids catch it (they can catch it through seeing it).

It's actually funny you mentioned this. One of the clerks in our ER was telling me to make sure that it wasn't one of the "Gay Days" at Disneyland when we were visiting--"Can you imagine what it would be like with your kids there and everything???"

Good one on the Dole Pineapple. Excellent drink. Turkey leg on the other hand. I find it gross, people walking around gnawing on those things.
