I'm certain that if I had a piece of grilled meat as my desktop background I would never get any work done. Mine is a picture of my kids being silly.

My desktop is visible about 1% of the time. The rest of the time a web browser or other program taking up the entire screen.

Therefore, I have never really seen the need for a great desktop background. As such, mine is the default rolling hills and blue sky of Windows XP land.
