A great video from my BIL

This an email from BIL who live in Niku and BYUGuy's neck of the woods.

    Hi everyone,
Yesterday I flew into Tegucigalpa, Honduras for the first time. The recent coup didn't affect our flight except for the fact that we only had about 35 passengers on it both ways. The airport is in the middle of the city which lies in a mountain valley covered in lush green vegetation. I wasn't qualified to fly down there till yesterday when I flew in with a check airman who showed me how it's done. The approach is a circling maneuver following terrain with mountains literally on both sides of the airplane flying very low following the downward slope of the mountains to the runway. We fly over houses about 200 feet below us on short final. Then to top it all off the runway is very short. Here's a video of an American Airlines airplane doing it. It was a lot of fun.

That looks like landing an airline jet on an aircraft carrier. That has got to be a rush for the pilot.

That's cool.. My dad has a sweet video of himself landing a 747 at the old Hong Kong airport. That was a crazy approach.

MY BIL is always sending me videos of things he takes from the cockpit, usually on his cell phone. I always find it humorous since the flight attendants make such a big deal about turning off all electronic devices. He actually got a 1 in a 1,000,000 shot of the space shuttle launch one time from above. It was a crappy video but kind of cool.

I HATE flying into Tegucigalpa. I felt like I could reach out and touch the hillside shanties. That has to be one of the worst major airports in the world. Taking off is just as harrowing. It feels like the engine is red-lining and you're at a 45-degree angle.
