who leaves out vital bits of information that are pertinent to what they're talking about when they tell you something? This the phone call I got a few minutes ago from my wife:
wife: "It's going to be a while before I get home. Will you start dinner?"
me: "Sure. Are you stuck in traffic?"
wife: "Yes. And it's probably going to be a while because the ambulance isn't here yet."
me: "What? Ambulance? Are you and (the oldest daughter) ok? What happened?"
wife: "A car was speeding up the road and hit the van when it pulled out of the parking lot at the high school."
me: "I'll be down there in just a few minutes. I want to be there to make you sure you two are ok. Are you hurt?"
wife: "Why would I be hurt?"
me: "You just said that a car hit the van when you were pulling out of the parking lot at the high school."
wife: "What? It was the van in front of us that got hit. Stay home and start dinner."
me: "You didn't say it was a van in front... Ok. I'm glad you two are ok. I'll start dinner."
