    How would you handle this?

No, no problems with the autofax from the other day...

Qwest hired a tree service company to trim branches of trees that were in the way of the wires. They were in my yard yesterday to do this. My wife noticed today that they not only trimmed the branches of the two big firs in my backyard, but they took it upon them selves to remove 3 smaller firs that were nowhere near the wires. She's pretty ticked off about it and blames me for it happening, but because I was busy while they were here, I had no idea what had happened.

Anyway, would you call the tree service and tell them that they owe you 3 firs or just not worry about it? My wife wants more trees in the backyard and I wouldn't mind it, but I can live without more firs.

I would make them pay you for the trees, but then you can get whatever tree you want, instead of more firs.

Weird that they cut down three trees for no reason. Why would they do that?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

That's the weirdest part. I wonder why they'd want to make more work for themselves if not necessary.

I'd put in a call to satisfy the wife.

My guess is that they thought that the trees were going to be a clearance issue in the future.

That or they watched one to many re-runs of Ax Men and thought they were falling 100 year old trees in the mountains of NW Oregon.

True, because Comcast would get shot for trespassing on my property.

I've decided that I'll put the ball in the side of the court of the tree service. I'll call them in the morning, tell them my name and address and ask why they removed the 3 smaller trees that were nowhere near the wires.

You've gone soft. The il Pad I know would've burned the tree service's office to the ground.

Right there is the key my friend. You need to try to get those trees paid for and pound the table for your wife. I have learned the hard way that not trying hard enough to vindicate her is much worse that than the loss of tree or the like. (Right Super?)

I thought about it, but with the state of the economy today, I need to conserve the accelerants I have stored for when the imminent collapse happens. I'll get wealthy by bartering for goods and services from those who wish to riot in the streets.

I suppose I could go shoot the windows out of their office, but I most likely should save the ammo for darker days as well.

I wasn't always an upstanding citizen....and yes I understand that many would think that still applies.
