why are kids smoking smarties when there are perfectly good cigarette replicas that come in both mint and bubble gum varieties? The bubble gum sticks are actually coated with candy powder than can be blown (once) like smoke. I loved those as a kid. In fact, there is a store here in Laguna Beach that still sells them. Might be time to take the kids down and share a pack.

Probably because you can also use the smarties powder like cocaine too. For extra shock value.

Seriously, if one of my kids did something like this I would say "that's dumb" and then ignore it. Stuff done for shock value is rendered impotent if the intended target refuses to be shocked.

we tried pixy stix "cocaine" at scout camp. I think we dared each other to try it. It made me sneeze, although it was somewhat pleasant to have a sugary sweet mucus. Another benefit was that it really helped keep the weight off.

Yeah, we did that. We also smoked cedar bark wrapped in paper. It was dumb, but I'm sure it did my lungs no more harm than inhaling the campfire smoke did.

I once was pulled from the outfield and benched in the middle of an inning in a little league game when I was 10 because I was focused too much on eating the candy cigarettes I had in my back pocket rather than on the game.
