Someday when you actually thank somebody ... I would like to be there ... so could you ... like ... maybe if it is not too much trouble possibly drop me a pm before you do it.

    P.S.

I believe reading between the lines I actually acknowledged that your language was just peachy in an idiomatic sense.

Is the quorum decreed to always be ten white male landowners and two token females?

Does this bother you because the mission commitment patterns says we need to be direct?

Are the missionaries still told to use direct "Will you" questions?

If you could stop mocking me, that would be appreciated.

I was going for ironic and mocking.

Even the super-direct missionary questions were softened a bit in French discussion manuals, but were still much too direct for ordinary conversation in French.

Not really ... I always just imagine there is something sinister at work ... Like, we would like to thank the organist ... (but truth be told her foot pedal work was really sub standard today so I am not going to actually thank her).

                        I only have 3/5 of a vote.

it's true, even back in my day they were very different (I was in a bi-lingual mission and we had the rainbow discussion manuals in english and french).
