The board needs a new name

The name lacks any branding potential and it sickens me to see those two words fused. Maybe the Central Committee can accept nominations, draw up a short list and we can vote on it. That seems to be in keeping with the participatory ethos here.

agreed, we can be a bit more creative than this.

Jeff Lebowski already indicated that the current banner is simply a placeholder.

Are you suggesting an entirely new name? Wouldnt that require a new URL? More fees? etc?

I tend to agree, with apologies to whoever forked over the cash for the URL.

URLs are (fairly) cheap, and you could easily re-direct. I am actually working on a new banner (well, will be tonight when I am not 'working') so it should have some pizazz to it.

I am excited to see people's ideas for new banners, ones that aren't so crazy bright, I can't even look at straight on.

And it seems like there are a lot of threads on here already about the need for a new name and banner. Are we gonna put it to a vote? With lots of new ideas and/or options I think we should vote. I think Surfah could come up with some cool stuff too. Get on it Surf.

I can't believe that I'm actually agreeing with you on something.

I suggest we name the board "Herb the Mongoose Hunter".
