  • my account is being hit on by the russians

    Dear arizonaute,

Someone has tried to log into your account on cougarstadium.com - BYU sports forum and message board with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 188.143.232.144

    All the best,
cougarstadium.com - BYU sports forum and message board

    Location of the IP address
    188.143.232.144:
    Saint Petersburg in Russian Federation

I doubt its the Hot mail order model kind of Russian.

    Anyone else see this ?

Changed my password just in case.

I am going to have to merge all of these threads eventually.

Several of you are getting this. Please post the message you get and I will see if there are some common IP addresses that I can ban.

Interesting... The IP addresses given to me thus far have been the same. I banned the IP. Let's see if this helps. Please report any future issues of this type.

I got hit by this IP address: 188.143.235.81 Again this is located in St Petersberg, and it listed as a Static IP.

I logged in to change my PW afterward.

I got the notice last week as well. It traced to somewhere in Russia, but I can't remember where exactly right now. If someone wants the address I can go pull it up from an old email.

Russians, et al. are on the attack lately. Happening to a lot of people. Make sure your passwords are secure. No stupid stuff like password123 or qwerty.

JL, what exactly do the Russians want with my CS account? Can they leverage that into something bigger? So what if they post something using my account-- it might be only slightly less dumb than the stuff I actually do post.

I found some stuff at work in a public account, you know government secrets and crap, that stuck here for safe keeping. Don't worry... I have a good password. No one will guess the name of my dog.
