  • Are there enough runners here to create a runners forum?

Currently, we post all of our running threads in the gym, but I wonder if there is enough interest in running to have a place to post just running threads. It appears that there are around a dozen of us who will be training for marathons, half-marathons, or who have just finished training.

For those who are training for fall races, a daily post from each of us during an 18-week training period would create a huge thread - 450 posts or so just reporting the day's training. A runners forum similar to the bike shop might help organize the running threads a little better, but maybe that's just me.

    I second this.
Runners definitely outnumber bikers on here, especially if you count the bikers who also run.

    Give us our own thread!

This seems like a pretty transparent attempt to galvanize about 20 people in an effort to overtake the Lakers thread as the most viewed thread on CUF. Nevertheless, I will support it, knowing that it takes a nation of millions to hold us back.

I'll give it my support as well. The further I get into my training, the less my minimal knowledge (gleaned from my days in HS on the track team) is of any use.

By hell, we have a biking forum for what seems to be about 3 people who bike. It would only make sense to have a running forum.

I think a runner's forum would be cool. It might also be nice for the non-runners, not having to wade through the running posts in The Gym.

I'll throw my support behind this as well, it would certainly be nice to have one and I can't imagine it being that hard to add an additional forum.

                orrrrrrrrrrrr

we could just get rid of the cycling forum. We don't have separate religion forums for members, apostates, and others. There's no reason why the various exercise pursuits can't all be posted in one category.

I'd propose instead of starting a new running forum, that we split what is currently called the gym: one forum for exercise and activity; the other for health and wellness. That way the one forum isn't overloaded with threads, and wuapinmon will have a dedicated forum for posting photos of his ailments.

Similarly, I propose we split the single "music, movies television" category into separate categories for drama, comedy, sci fi, reality, rock, rap, indie, classical, western, NBC, CBS, ABC, cable, and PPV.

I am sick of wading through posts about reality (music) when I am clearly searching for scripted legal thrillers (cable).

Is there an ignore feature at CUF. I would ignore the gym, running and biking.

wait. on second thought we'd better let them keep their cycling forum. Otherwise the other fitness forum will be tainted with pics of the guys in those tiny little spandex shorts and shaved legs. I take it back. I take it all back!
