I don't send many private messages, but I have sent a couple the last few days. At least I thought I did. I haven't received any responses, which could be more an indictment of the messages than the system. But the messages also don't show up in my Sent Items. The most recent items in there were sent and received back in November. The total number of private messages (combined Inbox and Sent Items) is 59, so I feel like I'm sufficiently under the 1,000 message maximum.

I was just going to PM this to Jeff, but wasn't sure if he'd get it.

I have to affirmatively elect to retain a copy of a private message in my Sent Items. I don't know if that helps you or not.

      Maybe that's my problem.

Yes, look at the checkboxes below the area where you compose the message.

Mine is on by default. Maybe if you set it once it remembers the setting.

I am happy to report that wuap was kind enough to send me a test PM which I then replied to. Both messages are listed, bringing my PM total up to 61.

I also found the appropriate setting in the User CP and have changed it going forward. Did saving the message used to be the default setting? I don't remember checking the "Save in Sent Messages" checkbox for all my prior PMs.
