I really don't want to make a big deal about this, but I'm putting Viking on my ignore list. I've only put one other poster on ignore during my time on CUF, ufn.net and CB. It was for the same basic reason, but it was easier because I found the poster (BamaFanNKy) to be incredibly annoying. This isn't the case with Viking. I enjoy his posts and respect his great appreciation of Rush.

I don't want to be a prude, but I look at CUF at work, at home around my family and even at church. Most of all I prefer to avoid this kind of thing while I'm surfing the interwebs and like having a fairly safe haven here at CUF. A big reason for this thread apart from getting on my soapbox is to encourage someone to let me know when the avatar has been changed. Viking, my vote is for this. It is simple, classic and all around awesome.

I wish there were a way to turn off individual avatars instead of all avatars. That new avatar is not my fave..i dont find it offensive but it doesn't look good if someone else sees you reading the board (coworkers, kids) and someone has an avatar like that. Utestars Hoff avatars are the same way.

I'm surprised v bulletin does not allow you to do that selectively.

Does this work for individual avatars? This isn't just about Viking. For example, I would love to figure out how to block Creekster's avatar, as well. Won't go into detail but let's just say it almost cost me my job

Doesn't work on my phone and couldn't download it at work. I also hate blocking all avatars. I appreciate Viking stepping up to the plate on this one.

Works for individual images. You just right-click and block.

I don't have a solution for the phone.

In the spirit of full disclosure, we have asked a few people via PM over the history of CUF to tone down avatars. While we still believe in light moderation, many of us like to peruse CUF at home or work or other places where we don't have to worry about people glancing over our shoulders and questioning our website choices (insert joke here). We don't want to be in a situation where people feel like they have to turn off avatars to enjoy CUF. Most of you have been gracious about it and your good will is greatly appreciated.
