    A dark horse candidate:

    The Pride of UFC

"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

So tough for me to choose. There have been so many fantastic "Best Sports Thread" nominations thus far.

If people are able to be objective, this is the biggest sports news of 2010 on this board and that thread captured all the ups, downs, elations, and disappointments. Wally is right.

EDIT: By the way, I will grant that Jimmer is a huge story. I just see that being not an exclusively 2010 story and in the end will lose a great deal of its luster if BYU doesn't win a post season game or two. The final chapters there are yet to be written.

I better read that thread again, as I don't recall much elation.

So you are saying that if only people would shed their biases they would agree with you and Wally, as neither of you have any bias in this matter. That's pretty funny, really.

See, I think if people are able to be objective they would choose almost any thread from the Bike Shop as the best sports thread. Wow, you're right, that is pretty easy!
                PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Look, creek, if there is anything that I am, it is objective and honest.

The P10 Expansion thread is the most replied to (2,785) and most viewed (47,659) thread in the history of "the stadium." There was an amazing amount quality rivalry banter in there. Perhaps the independent or B12 groundswell posts could've surpassed it (you would think, on a cougar dominated board) but alas BYU didn't get into the B12, siphoning away initial interest in the independence thread which is still stunted from the hope that cougars hold that they will eventually land in the B12.

I will willingly admit that Jimmer is easily the most electric college BB player this State has seen in the last decade possibly ever, but the Jimmerpilia thread is an outlet for pent-up man-crush at its worst, a tribute to a great player at its best and a thread dedicated to his amazingness is not what CUF is all about (I may be mistaken). CUF prides itself (again if I am not mistaken) on intellect, wit, and some other third thing, but not on idol worship. Even if the idol is a worthy idol.

There is no comparison. No number of ESPN interviews can change that. Jimmer could score 100 points in a game, but it won't make the thread any better.

Please people stop the insanity. You have all been caught up in some sort of mania!!!

EDIT: the P10 Groundswell was also brilliantly architected by SU. It is a work of art and beauty that will stand the ages.

Well I agree that views and replies are objective. So we really should just do away with this silly vote thing and just determine a winner. WHo cares what people (including non-ute fans) THINK, it's all about number of views and replies. Thanks!

btw, my bias is that I think the CUFfie thing is, well, let's just say I am not a huge fan.

I don't care about any other CUFfie award but this one. I have a testimony of the P10 expansion groundswell thread as instituted by the first prophet of this this pacific dispensation, even SeattleUte.

You know, if we give you cougs an inch you'll take a mile. We have to start the bartering low.

EDIT: BTW I said this knowing that I was betraying a 6-year NBA veteran in Bogut. That is how much I admire Jimmer, so don't get greedy.

I'm not sure whom Wally is referencing.

The only Ute to cause even half the nationwide hysteria of Jimmermania was Ted Bundy.

Imagine if Jimmer were to kill a man in cold-blood.

I think that the Utah court to try him would let him walk.
