Funniest part of this is that it seems like there's a lot of agreement but little potential for problem solving without huge blowups. I guess I shouldn't laugh at the trauma of fights, but you have to admit it's kind of entertaining. A bunch of semi-mature grown men (I'm leaving the women out of this because I'm sexist) volcanoing at each other instead of doing their work.... I love the internet.

Since we're all so good at evoking change through fighting, I think we'd be okay with the trauma of letting one little poster (me ) have a SE election thread in town hall. It could be fun.

I like you Rosebud, you know that, but you really should listen to Babs on this one.

Leave Arenal out of this. The volcano of the sierra is still and felicitous,

And we, we can be vicious and full of pain.

If you ever decide you truly want in the SE, send me a PM and I will give you a road map for it. It is a lot simpler than this and a lot less effort.

I think there are a lot of us who really like Rosebud who are scratching our heads right now.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you like me. I like you back, but I have to admit that you don't make any sense to me right now. Please do a better job of explaining why this is such a bad idea. I hear Babs. She thinks change has to come from within. I don't see much of a precedent for that happening. All I see is a history of explosions that result in mass-migrations, exiting favorites, and hurt feelings (not that any of you get hurt or anything ).

I get that this stuff works for a testosterone-filled sports board. I just don't think it makes for much stability. I'm an ENTJ. I think long term organizational solutions. I'm not nearly as interested in getting into SE as I am in the future of the board. SE won't be valuable to me personally until it goes through some sort of change anyway.

My brother always scraches his head when he is secretly trying to ameliorate thing which has been procrastinated for too long. He often comes up with good answers.

"Stability." Yeah, we sure do like our stability. No wishy-washy flip-flopping for US, thank you very much.

So you're FOR the SE now, right?

Look, I know this looks like political suicide to you guys. It's just that the truth is that now that I know how things work around here political suicide isn't that big of a deal to me. I don't have much to lose because my interests are different than yours. This is a gain for me.

Don't worry, we don't all think you're committing political suicide.

                              Thanks . I don't think I am either.

I know this sounds weird, but I don't need anyone in SE to defend me. I mean, it IS really cool to have friends who might try to stand up for me when I can't stand up for myself, but it's okay with me if people get all wound up about this.

The first election really hurt my feelings because I had no idea what was going on. I wasn't hurt that I wasn't elected. I was hurt that I had been put through the whole process blind. This time I'm not blind. Let people rant and rave. It's no biggie.

Ideally, you would've never known that you weren't elected.
