I will; I wish he would post despite his reservations ... I like having jay around (but yes he can be a bit prickly to the Utes around here). I like having "Stat geeks" like me around (although, to be clear, I lay claim to the title of King of the Stat Geeks).

I think it is the rough equivalent of saying "don't let the door hit you on the way out."

I am just translating, btw, this is not my sentiment.
        PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Jay is big on grace and forgiveness. He will come around.

LA, since I don't know you and you posted this nearly a week after my post, am I supposed to assume there was some kind of crypt discussion that prompted your post? Can you fill me in? If not, please keep your discussion about me behind my back.

I think you're a little off base on this one, Jay. I would hope you would stick around. Like many others, I value your contribution. You would be missed.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Membership in the speakeasy is availabel for perusal. LAUte is not among its members.

Speaking for myself, I would rather that you felt willing to particiapte here, as your football posts were (almost) always intersting and entertaining. You have made it clear you are unahppy wiht the new baord, but it is, for the forseeable future, a fact of life. You are obviously free to post or not, but I hope you do.

"The Speakeasy" is about the perfect name for the new Crypt. It fits perfectly with the new townsy 'democratic' category titles, it is a little edgy and subversive (being on an LDS influenced BB) but doesn't go too far, and the idea of speaking easy describes perfectly its purpose.

Way to go. This site is out-styling the old CG by leaps and bounds.

I assume that LAU read that old-ish post and assumed it was a resignation from this board, not knowing that you had (hopefully) already gotten over this and decided to post anyhow.

Either way, I hope it wasn't and that you continue to post here. After all, its probably one of the least crappy alternatives for BYU sports talk.

Hmmm.... We may have found a new slogan for our banner, folks.

Well, we've already got our AP and a couple of zone leaders called. There's got to be a district leader position available out there somewhere for me.

                              Several comments in response:

                              1. I am really new here. I don't even know what the "crypt" is. I was new to CougarGuard too. So I am probably making missteps here and there. Lots of people here know me pretty well, for whatever that is worth.

                              2. My reply to you was quite unkind and I apologize. I do not even know you or your posts, so I over-reacted.

                              3. The background to #2 is that I enjoyed CougarGuard much of the time, but also was repelled by what seemed to me an extremely abrasive, uncivil and needlessly disrespectful board culture. For me, life is too short to spend much time in such places, or dealing with would-be playground bullies. I see message boards as diverting places to have fun. CougarGuard was not shaping up as such a place for me. Again, I was new to that board and was trying to give it time before I just gave up on it. When I read your post I assumed that perhaps you prefer the CougarGuard culture and were lamenting its loss on this board. My nasty comment was made with that assumption in mind. But even if that's what you did mean, I was out of line. Sorry!

                              4. This board seems quite promising. I like the people here. I like talking to level-headed LDS Ute fans and BYU fans, and fans of both schools who are perhaps a little older (like me) and do not believe the world revolves around the success or failure of either program.

Anyway, I hope that clears things up.

I am highly offended by your remarks. I want you to know that BYU football is not life and death, it is much more important than that. (JK by the way)
