Trivia question: Who was Barry Allen?
Bonus question: Who (whom?) did he become, and how?“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Barry Allen? You mean my best pal the Flash, the fastest man alive? Love that guy.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostTrivia question: Who was Barry Allen?

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

I was beginning to despair that anyone would answer. Bonus questions: What did Barry do for a living and how did he become the Flash?Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostBarry Allen? Look, don't let this get out because I don't want it used against him but the guy was one of the best Police forensic experts around until he was hit by lightning while working with some chemicals. He's still a great detective though, which is why he sometimes pals around with that dick Bruce Wayne.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI was beginning to despair that anyone would answer. Woo-hoo! A true fan. I should point out that in the early 60s, when I was reading Detective Comics, Barry was referred to as a "police scientist."Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostLook, don't let this get out because I don't want it used against him but the guy was one of the best Police forensic experts around until he was hit by lightning while working with some chemicals. You probably know that the Flash walked through walls by causing the atoms in his body to vibrate at such a rapid rate that he was able to permeate non-vibrating matter.
Speaking of atoms, that reminds me of the Atom . . . .“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

If you're a fan of old-school Flash and Silver Age comics in general, I highly recommend the current series WEDNESDAY COMICS, published by DC. It's a weekly series published in the format of an old Sunday funnies page, with each page featuring a different adventure strip like Flash, Superman and Batman. The format is like a trip back through time and the creative chores are being handled by some of the top writers and artists in the business. Great stuff.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostWoo-hoo! Just for fun, does the name Carmine Infantino mean anything to you?“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Are you kidding me? The man practically invented how to definitively draw somebody running at super-speed.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI am such a fan, thanks so much. I will look for that.

So you obviously know who Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby are too. I have found a kindred spirit.Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostAre you kidding me? Man, it's a great thing when you can throw names like that around and not be met with blank stares in return. That's why I still head down the the comic book store every Wednesday (new shipment day) to shoot the breeze with the proprietor. Ahhh...good times....Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
