Going to steal from a stealer...I did.

    How did you find CUF?

There is an internet evolution for me...I started out on Cougarfan...saw folks mention byuboard so I went there. It became cougarboard. I golfed with BYU71 and PAC and they told me about a new more enjoyable board which was CG. I was there for the implosion and came over here. I was heartbroken to find out I wasn't chosen to be in the inner circle but such is life.

How did you choose your moniker?

As a missionary we did some volunteer work at a visitor center in a small town. They had a little TV and it had cartoons playing on it on loop to entertain the kids while mommy and daddy were asking questions. The Tick was one of the cartoons. I had never heard of the comic book or seen any of the shows before then. They had me in stitches. Funny stuff. I just took the nickname and off I went.

What do you do (other than read CUF)?

I have a highly addictive personality. I dabble in many things yet master none.

    I enjoy:

    Fly Fishing
    Golfing
    Cooking
    Coaching

I work in the oilfield and sometimes it is good. They actually replaced my boss yesterday so things are going to be much better I am sure.

Did you ever consider an alternative career path?

Every day of my life. I am actually going back to school in the fall to start working on a BA in Education. I would like to teach History. But I am better fit to be an Academic Advisor so that is what I am going to attempt to do.

How many time zones have you lived in and what is your current time zone?

    Two. Boring I know.

I didn't even make it out of my own damn time zone for my mission except for my 2 weeks in the MTC. Someone doesn't like me.

    Pacific

How many states have you lived in?

I have lived in California, Utah, California, Washington, California.

How many states have you road tripped to/through in your RV?

    0. But I want to own one some day. A state, not an RV.

    What are your sports loyalties?

BYU Football, College Football, College Basketball, Hockey. I enjoy the NFL but it has lost some of its allure for me. I follow the Seahawks though as my team.

What's your standing in the church?

Outwardly I appear like the stalwart member of my ward. I never really let folks know how I really feel. (No one in my ward mind you. Except for...my wife.)

Inwardly...I am struggling greatly right now. Don't enjoy the temple, don't enjoy church. I enjoy teaching Priests quorum but that is it. I have major issues with the Savior, the Afterlife and Judgement. I don't really know how to explain it but none of it is really good. Some of it makes me wonder if I should hold a temple recommend due to some of my doubts.

Are you looking forward to Wuap's welcome question and what do you think it will be?

If it has to do with something in my wheel house then sure. If it is going to require that I go to google to help me find my answer, the google search better bring up more photos of Elisha.

Man those oilfields out there stink. And could you do something about the fog over there?

You need a new ward and stake, thats all, and it all will work itelf out.

In December 2008, Dallas Stars' player Sean Avery, the ex-boyfriend of your Cuthbert request, skated over to a group of reporters before a game against the Flames and made the following comment, perhaps directed to the two Flames players who were then dating two of his ex-girlfriends:

"I'm really happy to be back in Calgary. I love Canada and I just wanted to comment on how it's become a common thing for guys in the NHL to fall in love with my sloppy seconds, I don't know what that's about."

The NHL suspended him for six games and the Stars required him to get anger management treatment. He was not brought back to the team. Did Avery get what he deserved or should he have been allowed to express his frustration in that way? Explain your answer.
"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

First off...Avery should never have had the chance to date Miss Elisha in the first place.

The redistribution of wealth in the hot hockey girlfriend department is a well known practice. But it wasn't very couth of Mr. Avery to speak that way regarding a previous girlfriend.

Regardless...something someone says to a reporter should really never get someone suspended. A fine I understand, not a suspension.

He should have had his ass kicked multiple times though for face guarding Marty Broduer in 2008. The suspension he got wasn't long enough and someone should have beaten him repeatedly.

What is that in your avatar photo, Tick?

February 2006. 20" Pipeline ruptured. I was 6 miles away and it felt like an earthquake.

We worked 21 hours that day. We then worked 16-18 hours for the next 21 days.

I work in a gas field, not really oilfield. 70% of the production of the hill I work on is Nat Gas, the other 30 is oil.

A gas plant never really shuts down. They run 24/7 until something breaks or something explodes.

They hadn't had a shutdown in 5 years...so we broke all kinds of labor laws and fixed everything that we could get parts for.

Let's just say I took home more money in that month than I ever have in a single month in my life. It was attorney/doctor looking paycheck.

Most times I feel safe at my job. Sometimes when you really start to think about it....not so much.

Thanks for being open enough to post a small part of your feelings/thoughts here. It's good to get to know you a little better....

There is nothing like playing a round of golf with a guy to get to know someone. For good or bad. My experience with the Tick was very positive even though his golf game needed some work.

                  Hey ass....

My lady golf instructor tells me there is hope.

I just purchased a set of Nike woods. The Dymo2 set. My 3 and 5 showed up tonight, the driver is on a slow boat from Myrtle Beach.

600 worth of clubs for 300. Not bad.

My game is still going to be crap but at least it wont be faulty equipment!

They didn't have female instructors when back when I was taking lessons. I could have really used some work with my putter.

I apologize to all for my off color comments. It is that time of the month for me.

                      Never mind.

                        You know I kid 71.

To show you how nice of a guy I am, next round of golf is on you.

You can talk to me about finances and then just expense it.

Sweet, let me know the next time you are in town. There is a sweet course in Farmington. It is called LAGOON and it has some sweet holes. I will buy.

I've been through a similar phase myself. I started coming out of it about a year ago, which ironically coincided with me being called as Gospel Doctrine teacher. I don't know that I'm fully out of it yet, but it has gotten better. If you ever want to talk about it just drop me a line. I have a good friend who had similar issues and he has been a great help.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.
