  • Coming out...

No not that kind of coming out, not that there is anything wrong with that. I'm a CB regular and got turned on to this board by BBB. Anyway since I'm joining in the Bike/Run Challenge I thought I'd post an actual introduction thread instead of just lurking.

I'm 30, male, married, LDS, BYU Alum, lawyer, father of 3- soon to be four, living in AZ. I'm into cycling (lightly but I enough that I follow the Le Tour and understand what is going on), I used to run in highschool but I have crappy knees now. I've been known to dabble in computer games and am a star wars nerd.

If anything else that needs explained or clarified let me know.

If I'm not mistaken, BBB is on a recruiting frenzy. Welcome.

welcome to the family. please post often.

My standard question involves sports allegiances: NFL, MLB, NCAA, etc.

Also, do you enjoy eating food and are you willing to take and post digital pictures of any of your meals? If so, you will find respite here.

My NFL allegiances are thin. I was a Niners fan in my youth but they have sucked for so long and I haven't lived in CA for 12 years so I've adopted the Cardinals as my team as long as they do well.

MLB- Diamondbacks followed by anybody but the Yankees.

NCAA-All things BYU, followed by ASU for locality, and a general affinity for the PAC-10.

        NHL- Hockey sucks

I enjoy eating but I have never been one to take pictures of my food. I've always placed a greater importance on taste than on presentation, hence I relate better to Guy Fierri than Alex Guarnaschelli.

Alex Guarnaschelli is my least favorite of all Chopped judges. I have never watched any of her shows.

She always looks like she is disgusted with whatever is going on during the show.

Welcome to the board. Please answer the following question, but choose carefully; our future dealings depend upon how you respond:

If someone is murdered in Antarctica should the trial be held in the victim's home country, the accused's, or in the nation wherein the expedition embarked? Or, is the whole continent lawless because of a lack of sovreignty, or do we honor historical claims and, for example, allow the Argentines to prosecute someone for murder in Antárctica Argentina?

Did the murder take place at a research station sponsored by a government or corporate conglomorate or was it out in the open territory? Who apprehended the suspect? Was the research party itself a government expedition or a private endeavor? In short, I need more information before any sort of answer could be formulated.

First step on shore, gunned down outside, on the beach.....private tour set out from Comodoro Rivadavia; the ship is a flagged Liberian freighter. No one apprehended the suspect; he's rich and had another company pick him up; he's Honduran. currently in Switzerland--the victim was from Pitcairn Island. The gun was bought in Argentina, as was the ammunition.

In short, answer the damned question, noob.

One feet or two feet on the shore? Shore as in land or as in Ice shelf? And who takes a ship to Antarctica? Most people fly into Antarctica. Was the beach part of a research station or completely uninhabited? If completely uninhabited and separated from the research stations was he adequately supplied and prepared to survive on Antarctica? If not couldn't it just be considered a suicide?
