    Hi, How Are You?

I lurked for a while, posted once or twice a year ago. Couldn't get my darned avatar pic to work. And just gave up. That's kind of how I am. Keep your expectations low and I promise you'll be only mildly disappointed in me.

[not sure how to use quotes in my reply yet. Sorry!]

        How did you find CUF?

Grafitti in a Belfast pub. Next to a very crude drawing of, well, ...

How did you choose your moniker?

It selected me, if you know what I mean.

What do you do (other than read CUF)?

        I am a molder/warper of young minds.

How many time zones have you lived in?

        Maybe a half-dozen

        What are your sports loyalties?

BYU, but I can't really bring myself to hate the Utes or Aggies in the way I know I should.

Are you looking forward to wuap's welcome question and what do you think it will be?

If it's about Borges, I'm ready for it. Bring it on, grasshopper!

What do you like about CUF?

After spending some time lurking in the trailer park of Cougarboard, CUF seems like a great community. In all seriousness, I love the balance of hard-core sports, politics, and religion and that there really is a diversity of opinions. I must say that Elder Uchtdorf's recent encouragement to spend more time online rather than with family members really struck a chord with me as well.

What don't you like about CUF?

Other the lack of valet parking, it's pretty swanky.

Do you pee in the sink?

        Does the kitchen sink count?

Did you ever consider an alternative career path?

Up until 8th grade, professional football player. Up until my senior year of high school, rock star. I'll admit that I haven't quite let go of that one but, now that I'm in my 40s, it doesn't look too good.

When your kids get older, will you do drugs with them in order to teach them a responsible approach to drugs?

No, there are some things that are best learned on the street.

What's your standing in the church? (this was originally meant as a joke but it stuck)

Far more active than I should be, at least if you were to parse my beliefs individually and compare them to your average pew-warmer.

Why are you so creepy? How long have you been lurking?

Have you ever seen David Lynch's The Elephant Man? It took me a while to screw up the courage to go to the opera for the first time.

Do you expect anyone to respond to this thread?

Good hell, I barely even read it myself. Why would I expect anyone else to?

Finally! Someone worthy of a question!

If you believe that time and reflection are required before responding on a sports message board, that just means the terrorists have won.

That's the best intro post since Cardiac's better half many moons ago.

The fact that Harry Tic wasn't bright enough to create his own thread for this introduction is a bad sign.

Harry, I merged the posts in the template thread into this one. (I am an admin).

Terrific intro, btw. Great to have you here.

Thanks, Jeff. By the way, if I ever meet you and you aren't a dead ringer for Jeff Bridges and slouching around in a bathrobe with a half empty milk carton in your hand, I'll be disappointed. Funny how you end up forming impressions of people based not only on their posts but on visual associations connected with their avatar.

Yes, I know that means I'm headed for trouble as well.

We should probably avoid a meeting. I look more like Walter.

Now that those words are loose on the internet, there's a pretty good chance that they will come back to haunt you if you ever run for public office. Thanks byu71!
