  • The Douger

The mandatory questions, things everyone wants to know about you:

    How did you find CUF?
I've lurked on and off over the last few years. I enjoyed the MWCboard.com until conference armageddon happened, and then it turned in to a big pissing match between those leaving, those staying, and those who were just mad.

How did you choose your moniker?
I had a mission companion that called me "The Douger" the entire time we were together instead of Elder "So and so". I've always thought it was funny, so I use it.

What do you do (other than read CUF)?
I like fishing. I'm work in SLC, and run a busy urgent care. I'm a physician's assistant. I have 3 kids. Married, happy. Started taking up running this year, down about 24 pounds.

How many time zones have you lived in?3

    What are your sports loyalties?
BYU sports, don't care about the non revs much. Follow football heavily and basketball less heavily
Denver Broncos and the NFL in general
I like the Jazz but am pretty casual about the NBA the last decade.

Are you looking forward to wuap's welcome question and what do you think it will be?
I'm not quite sure, but I'm sure it will be awesome.

    Optional, but encouraged questions:

What do you like about CUF?
That you don't get banned for saying douchebag.

What don't you like about CUF?
    Nothing, so far.

Do you pee in the sink?
I've done it before. Shower is more common. Backyard late at night occasionally.

Did you ever consider an alternative career path?
Yeah, if I had to, but I'm pretty happy where I'm at.

When your kids get older, will you do drugs with them in order to teach them a responsible approach to drugs?
Having never done drugs myself, I doubt it. But it's certainly an interesting thought.

What's your standing in the church? (this was originally meant as a joke but it stuck)Good standing. Go nearly every week. Have a calling, etc.

    Why are you so creepy?
Because I enjoy draining abscesses at work.

How long have you been lurking?
On and off since 2010. Was perusing this place during all the realignment chaos. Would periodically check in, think about signing up, would think better against it as I already spent too much time on the internet at work and at home.

Got a permaban from Cougarboard last night, and decided it was time. I am not in to heavy moderation, as folks are adults and can usually handle themselves. This probably would have been a better fit from the beginning.

Do you expect anyone to respond to this thread?
Sure, I'm pretty freaking awesome. So ya.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

    Soit le bienvenu!

    Who doesn't enjoy draining abscesses?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I am aware of several hospitals whose physicians don't like draining abscesses.

I offer my endorsement that The Douger is a good chap. When he's not calling people douchebags, that is.

          Oh, and welcome, Douger.

Just in time. We have a lot of abscesses that need draining.

See, why you gotta be like that?

I just don't like independence for BYU, but I'm liking it better given the turd the MWC became over the last year.

I just want BYU in a major conference. I don't see how it works out well for us being indy with the playoff system coming down the turnpike.

                    Ah, then I'll take it!

Looks like a lot of CB regulars are here.

I like MOST of the posters over there, so that's cool.

Good point; we ban people so often for using that and other similar terms.

For the benefit of newcomers, one should note that we've never banned anyone for using the term "douchebag" (actually, I don't know that we've ever banned anyone for using any particular epithet), but it is hoped the presence of a higher percentage of women here than on CB makes the use of such a term rather gauche.

There are unlimited verbal weapons in the CUF gun cabinet, but one hopes everyone has the good sense not to take the nastier ones out to shoot them off, just because they're there. That said, the occasional and judicious use of a colorful expletive usually gets a thumbs up from me.

P.S. Welcome, The Douger. Does your moniker rhyme with bugger or booger (this information will be helpful during our rhymed couplets competition)?
