  • I hope this is the "OFFICIAL" template

The mandatory questions, things everyone wants to know about you:

    How did you find CUF?
Regular Cougarboard user looking for something else. CUF has more-frequently of late been identified as the place where disaffected ex-CB posters go. As I've had a harder and harder time stomaching the board, so I decided to get my daily BYU fix elsewhere.

How did you choose your moniker?
BYU grad living in Missouri. Lukewarm Mizzou fan - I pull for them, but I don't follow them around like a fat kid chasing a plate of gravy. When it comes to BYU FB and BB, however, I AM the fat, and I like my gravy.

What do you do (other than read CUF)?
I'm an attorney with 6 kids. My oldest 2 (daughters) are in high school and play a lot of volleyball, so I haul them around to practice and watch them. My wife coaches volleyball year round (club teams and school), so I run around and watch a bunch of high school girls in spandex a lot of weekends.

When I'm not doing that, I'm running around watching my son (age 12) play baseball. He pitches and plays centerfield on a traveling team that plays around 80 games per year. Yeah, most weekends I'm either at a baseball tournament or a volleyball tournament.

I'm an (unpaid) assistant HS football coach during the fall and the local school board president. I coach linebackers on D and help with the O line on offense.

I live on my wife's family's 600 acre farm in rural Missouri. My kids are the 5th generation of the family to grow up on the property. We hunt, fish, shoot, blow stuff up, ride ATV's through the mud, and do basically what you'd expect people who live in the country with the closest neighbor a couple of miles away to do. Well, except for maybe making shine or meth.

How many time zones have you lived in?
    3

    What are your sports loyalties?
    BYU
    St. Louis Cardinals
Dallas Cowboys (less so now though - I don't have the time to follow them)
I have zero use for the NBA and haven't watched a complete game in years

Are you looking forward to wuap's welcome question and what do you think it will be?
Of course. I just hope he doesn't ask if he can date my wife.

    Optional, but encouraged questions:

What do you like about CUF?
I like that it's not CB. I like that the posters here seem a lot less likely to troll their own fan base.

What don't you like about CUF?
    That remains to be determined

Do you pee in the sink?
Only in gas stations, and then only when the toilet is clogged with #2 and I don't want to pee on it and get backsplash all over my pants.

Did you ever consider an alternative career path?
Of course. I considered being a male underwear model, but my wife laughed long enough that I reconsidered.

When your kids get older, will you do drugs with them in order to teach them a responsible approach to drugs?
They've all seen enough meth heads wandering around that I don't think it'll be necessary

What's your standing in the church? (this was originally meant as a joke but it stuck)
In the bishopric in my ward. Of course the criteria for that in rural Missouri is about the same as being called as a nursery leader in a Utah ward. You have to have a pulse and generally show up to Church on Sunday.

Why are you so creepy? How long have you been lurking?
I haven't. Occasionally I've seen links to CUF on other sites, and I've read posts here that way. I decided to stop using CB a few days ago, so I haven't had time to properly lurk here.

Do you expect anyone to respond to this thread?
Probably just the people that are overly polite and who feel obligated to welcome everyone who posts a thread here.

Welcome. We are really short on lawyers here, particularly ones who are in bishoprics.

Welcome. Great to have you on board. Don't be shy.

Welcome. One condition to participation here is that you must agree to never go back to CB and reveal that we all don't hate the LDS Church. While we have our share of Bishops, YM leaders, Seminary teachers, and the like, we prefer to keep that sordid info on the down low.

There are the usual suspects of non-believers, but you will quickly learn to filter them out....SeattleUte, RobinFinderson, woot, LAUte, etc...

Welcome fellow BYU fan. Great introduction btw. Don't sell yourself short on that bishopric thing though. My BIL was just set apart as a bishop in Missouri and he's one righteous dude. It took him 6 years of living there and active campaigning to reach such a lofty position.

                    That's a weird town name.

The template test is just to see if you're wussy enough to let people like wuap and pellegrino boss you around.

I think the same goes for most rural areas with smaller numbers of members. Just show up.

I have a weird practice. I do primarily small to medium sized business transactions and estate and business succession planning for business owners. I was at a firm in the St. Louis area for about 12 years. When my partner retired in 2010, I started looking at the 100+ mile round trip commute and $40,000 per month in overhead to keep the office running and the fact that most of my clients are out of state and never even see the office. Based on that, I fired all my staff and moved my office out to the little town of 700 people close to where I live.

I've come around to doing a little bit of small town stuff like fixing traffic tickets and helping people do for-sale-by owner, but it's mostly still corporate and business law and estate planning.

For the record, I don't own any slaves. However, if I knew where to buy a midget, I'd get me one of them.

That is OFFENSIVE! YOhio is a midget and this is supposed to be a safe zone.
