    Another Bureaucrat?

    How Did You Find CUF?

Work associate recommended it as a reasonable haven for first time message board inductees.

What Do You Like About CUF?

Diversity of thought. There appears to be some semblance of critical thinking displayed by certain posters.

What Don't You Like About CUF?

Personal attacks; I would rather focus on issues.

How Did You Choose Your Moniker?

Opposites attract. I am a DC bureaucrat lost in the cubicle maze. The furthest thing from a rebel.

What Are Your Hobbies Rather Than Reading CUF?

Participating in sports: running, golf, tennis, chasing kids.
Watching sports: college football, MLB (in person), golf (majors only please).
Reading: all genres, just finished Ehrman's God's Problem. Challenged my perception of God; I highly recommend it.

How Many States Have You Lived In?

4 - CA, UT, WA and VA (current)

    What Are Your Sports Loyalties?

    1. Utes
    2. Washington Huskies (went to grad school)
    3. Nationals (optimist)
    4. Braves (martyr)
    5. 49ers

Do You Pee in the Sink?

    No

What Is Your Standing in the Church?

    1. Had one rewarding calling in the past: Bp of a student singles ward for 3 years.
2 Currently in a HC. Boring. Makes me feel old and useless.
    3. I have serious doctrinal questions about such minor points as BoM historicity (no physical evidence, DNA, Isaiah, etc), polygamy/polyandry, Book of Abraham, etc. Mormon apologia is a major disapointment.
    4. That being said, the Church is a marvelous gathering place for serving the needs of others and trying to live a Christ centered life. I have a difficult time dealing with Mormon orthodoxy.

    That sounds pretty awful.

Welcome! We need some better Ute/Husky fans on the board.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Welcome. Great to have you here.

Interesting moniker choice. What is the background?

Thanks - latin for apostate, rebel. Although my wife fears that is what I am becoming, I am more like Casper Milquetoast. Perhaps CUF can be an agent for change?

If you are close to becoming an apostate but scared to make the jump, CUF will be really great for you. In fact chances are within the year you will be all the way out. Or at least claim to be.

Welcome aboard. I totally missed your intro the other day. Great to have another Ute around. I have a long list of books I want to read and little time to do it in, so in your opinion should I put Ehrman's God Problem above or below Misquoting Jesus? TIA

Junkie is our own personal rabble rouser and one of the reasons I came to CUF.

With that said his statement isn't entirely true. While CUF has helped some get through the out door it has actually helped keep some in. It certainly helped save my spiritual bacon a time or two.

If I decide you are on your way out I'm going to assign Orrin Hatch to be your home teacher.

                            Welcome.

Agreed. It's a great outlet for people who love the Church for what it is, but don't necessarily buy "the only true and living" business whole hog.

Besides, we know that the only reason why people really leave the church is because they're commiting heinous sins.
