No love for Weber State, Weber State, Great! Great! Great!? That question sucked.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostUSU Coug, welcome to CUF. Please answer the following question, (you know the rest).
The Cougars have their Y on Wymount; Utah it's U up there in its eagle's nest perch on the mountain. A true Aggie is one who has been kissed on the A on either a full moon or homecoming. Utah State sits in the lovely-from-June-to-September high-altitude-living Cache Valley, home of several cheese making outfits who make cheese curd, or squeaky cheese. Cache Valley Cheese also has a squeaky-clean plant in the snicker-inducing town of Beaver, Utah. I once got kicked off a Greyhound bus at El Bambi restaurant in Beaver for getting very upset with a fellow passenger whose overindulgence in alcohol resulted in his fouling our mutual space. Bambi lost his mother at a tender age, but the meadow is a dangerous place, much like the now 80mph zone in Meadow, Utah on I-15. Ute Timpanogo chief, Colorow Ignacio Ouray Walkara, died in Meadow in 1855, after having been baptized in the LDS church and after having started the "Walker War" over apparently not being able to find a "Mormonee wife." One can understand the frustration. When he died in 1855, several horses and two of his wives, presumably American Indian wives, were killed and buried with him, despite rumors of his having been rebaptized in the LDS Church after the Walker War with Brigham Young's blessing. Brigham Young, founder of the U of U with its sprawling campus precariously perched on a mountain, must certainly feel conflicted in the CK when he has to choose between rooting for the Utes and rooting for the Cougars at the school that bears his name. Utah State remains the red-headed stepchild of the Utah university scene, despite its long history and solid reputation and numerous steps from the city up to Old Main. So, the question remains, why is every university in Utah built on a hill?
What?! I thought you, of all people, would question the value of a question about Utah's universities which completely omits Ogden's gem of higher learning.Originally posted by happyone View PostDr. Wuap - you have outdone yourself on this one - outstanding!Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I still think it was a excellant question though - and Weber is on a hill. The hike from Promentory Towers to the Science building was brutal.

I may be small, but I'm slow.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Hey now, there's no need for name calling. To answer your question, universities in Utah are built on hills as a result of the paranoia engendered by the Utah/Mormon War. Much like hill forts built in in pre-history Britain, exploiting elevation is key to defending against warmongering gentiles.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostBastard never answered my question.
