I just typed in a long post, but my computer logged me out in the meantime. It asked for a log-in but when I logged in, it gave me this message to hit the "back" button and reload the previous page. I did that and the post was gone. Any way to get it back?

Yeah, same here. But this one's gone. Is there an internet cache I can pull out or something?Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostHappens to me all the time. (I am a sloooow writer). After I log in it usually comes back. I never have to press the back button.
Here's the message I got:

Please push the back button and reload the previous window"At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I think you are out of luck. If I attempt a looong post (quite rare for me) I always type it up in a text editor first, just in case. For shorter posts I do a CTRL-A and then CTRL-C just before I submit just in case it gets lost somehow."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

KL's happens when you're working on a post and it times out automatically and you click submit and you just have to log back in.
Your case is when you're starting a post in one window, and you log into the board from another window so you can browse while you work on your post. In that case you can lose the whole post when you click submit, and you can't always get it back.
Moral of the story: make sure you know which window you're actively logged into before you click submit.

Thats too bad. I sure hope you found the 3 sentence post that you were ready to submit. Hopefully you can remember it and write it again because it sounds like it was very interesting!

Lesson learned.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostI'm sure this was going to be an attack on me. Karma. ER should make his attacks more succinct.
Really, it was a medical blog entry about a pretty crappy experience here. Pretty self-indulgent, but therapeutic for me to type through it anyway, even if you all won't benefit from its brilliance.
I haven't had the will/energy to go through it again.
