I just typed in a long post, but my computer logged me out in the meantime. It asked for a log-in but when I logged in, it gave me this message to hit the "back" button and reload the previous page. I did that and the post was gone. Any way to get it back?

Happens to me all the time. (I am a sloooow writer). After I log in it usually comes back. I never have to press the back button.

Yeah, same here. But this one's gone. Is there an internet cache I can pull out or something?

      Here's the message I got:
"Your submission could not be processed because you have logged in since the previous page was loaded.

Please push the back button and reload the previous window"

I was really looking forward to reading it.

I think you are out of luck. If I attempt a looong post (quite rare for me) I always type it up in a text editor first, just in case. For shorter posts I do a CTRL-A and then CTRL-C just before I submit just in case it gets lost somehow.

When I write volumes I hit the preview button a few times, which acts as a sort of draft-save mechanism.

yours is different than what katylied is talking about.

KL's happens when you're working on a post and it times out automatically and you click submit and you just have to log back in.

Your case is when you're starting a post in one window, and you log into the board from another window so you can browse while you work on your post. In that case you can lose the whole post when you click submit, and you can't always get it back.

Moral of the story: make sure you know which window you're actively logged into before you click submit.

This was happening to me a lot when I first signed up, so I finally just clicked the remember me button. Now I can leave the post for a day and it still goes through.

Perhaps you should learn to type faster.

Thats too bad. I sure hope you found the 3 sentence post that you were ready to submit. Hopefully you can remember it and write it again because it sounds like it was very interesting!

I'm sure this was going to be an attack on me. Karma. ER should make his attacks more succinct.

                          Lesson learned.

Really, it was a medical blog entry about a pretty crappy experience here. Pretty self-indulgent, but therapeutic for me to type through it anyway, even if you all won't benefit from its brilliance. I haven't had the will/energy to go through it again.
