Perception is reality, my friend. If you offend a group of people, your comments are offensive. Your intention is irrelevant.

I don't understand why you are offended by the responses you're getting. Can you explain how they lack compassion?

I like your questions, OM. Don't respond to off-topic responses is my tip for the day.

If you can’t tell respect from disrespect, then you lack empathy, not rules. Or something like that.

I originally took this forum to be a considerably-less censored version of cougarboard, but it's really not that much different. Instead of providing forum rules of pharisaical decorum and enforcement like CB, there is more of a mob mentality for some. Ok. Whatever floats your boat.
            I rest my case.

This is ultimately a social interaction- not someone being charged with a crime. Doesn't matter if a dude shows up at a quinceañera and blue darts the birthday cake b/c he thinks it's hilarious and it would really set off the party. Great intentions don't equal great execution.

There has been one. ONE. 1. reference of mine pointed to as offensive: "the mormon god". THAT is what y'all are worked up about?!
No, that isn't what we're all worked up about. But any attempts to explain to you why you're getting the reception you are are pointless.

I would suggest that you lack an understanding of our community.

                            1. if you really knew cougjunkie, you would understand that his response is in fact EXTREMELY empathetic.
                            2. I think KC was being sincere when he implied you were disingenuous. Is it more important to be nice or honest?
