Dres is a junior but you guys won't see him again.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

        I have that too.

I need to go through my records and make sure they aren't charging me for it. I am going to mention it. They're my seats, but it's where my parents are sitting this year.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

            • Taysom sucks, but in the off chance he is on target, the receivers need to make the catch. I still say firing Cahoon was a big mistake, as it feels like there have been more drops this season than there were all last year.

They're just knocking all this stuff down, it's pathetic we can't get any separation."
They were getting separation just fine for the most part. It's just easier for a corner to break up a pass when it's behind the receiver. Also receivers were getting free downfield with two or three steps on the secondary and Taysom would airmail his throws 10 yards too deep. He is beyond bad right now.

I'm not faulting Anae for this one. BYU had its chances but the players failed.
Hill doesn't make horrible decisions ... he throws horribly inaccurate (but nice looking) balls. Hill is a very smart player, at least when compared to last year's QB.

Any word on Williams besides he can move his fingers and toes?
Refs were downright awful, but they didn't cause the loss. The no call on the last play was a travesty and they ran out as quickly as they could, just like they did when they killed the ASU-Wisconsin game. We wouldn't have scored on the last play, even if we had gotten it ... like we should have.

Seriously, i think one of BYU's problems is those stupid firesides. Football is bloodsport. I can't think of anything worse for the right frame of mind before a game than those delusional feel good firesides.

                    Of course you do.

                      1. Has not yet replaced the level of offensive talent from the late 2000s.To be fair, that was a lot of NFL-caliber guys

                      2. Is still bottoming-out from the staff upheaval surrounding Anae/Doman, Weber, etc.

                      3. Does not have good QB play

                      4. Is struggling with finding their GFGH identity. In retrospect the old Anae offense of precision passing and power running was pretty effective (helped to have NFL players)

I don't know how they're going to fix this. Taysom isn't suddenly going to become accurate. The O line is what it is. I think the leadership is good, but the schedule will be tough. I think it might be a real battle to become bowl eligible. Saddest thing to me is wasting the defense we've had for the last 3 seasons. Painful to think about what could be...
I agree 100%. I think it will be an up and down season, but we will get bowl eligible. Defense will help offense work out the kinks.

                      • I really don't think whit has this grand ability to out scheme BYU. His formula is very simple. He plays conservative limiting risk of turnovers. Then he let's BYU be the comedy of errors. Name me a coach who wouldn't force Hill to beat them? doesn't take MENSA intelligence to figure that shit out. Whit has dealt with Heaps, Nelson, and Hill. BYU QB play has made Whit/Sitaki's job easy.

                        • Last comment: As wonderful as our defense is, I am disappointed in how few turnovers they get. A pick or two, or a forced fumble, would have made a huge difference tonight. The defense did enough to win tonight, but I wish we could improve in this area a bit.

                            • It was a weird feeling on offense. I kept turning to my brother and saying it felt like they had us completely bottled up but it wasn't true. We were moving the ball and had over 450 yards of offense. We didn't turn the ball over until the end. But we couldn't close. 5 trips inside the 20, 13 total points. Utah had 20 on 4 trips. I'm not as down on the offense as some here, but I can't ignore Taysom going sub-40% on completions again. Until his accuracy improves we will continue to be very limited with what we can do inside the 20 and be vulnerable to sputtering like we did tonight.

Yeah I hate to put any blame on the defense because we all know they carry the team. I said going in if we got decent pressure on Wilson and created one or two turnovers we would win even if the offense stalled like they did. But zero turnovers and Wilson had time to carve us up when needed.
