  • Ok, I was wrong...

We have a lot to work on. *sigh*

The offense is just out of sync. Cain looks too tentative. He still seems to be thinking too much. Asiata wasn't 100%, but that doesn't account for dropped balls.

I'm not sure what is going on with the D. We can stop the run one week, but not the pass. The next week it flip-flops. Back and forth.

I still think the Utes have what it takes to compete for the Maaco Bowl, which, all things considered, is still pretty sweet.

    Go Utes!

Actually, I read your post last week as saying they had a lot to work on.

Yes, but I expected to see an improvement in a few areas, and I can't think of a single area where we saw an improvement over last week. Even marginally.

The corners played real well especially stanford.now that might be a result of the fact that oregon's qb more than anything. Other good things to mention are that cain had tons of time to throw the ball and he did make a couple good reads (his td run especially). Too bad he could make the passes.

That can happen against a better team than was previusly played.

I thought Asiata looked fine. He didn't get much help from the offensive line in the first half. He was still running hard and looking just as effective in the other aspects of the game as usual.

            He's quite a gamer.

I thought Asiata looked okay too. Though he did seem at times to shy away from contact (understandable) and in that regard didn't look like his usual bad self. Tough to tell though as everyone kind of looked slow out there with the rain and poor field. Lots of guys slipping. I like Asiata. I also love Koa Misi. You guys have two good ones there. If you had a QB with any kind of arm and a kicker with 50 yard range you'd be just fine.

I think the receivers were open. Masoli just can't throw worth a damn.
