the Garmin 305. That thing is awesome.
Got it in the mail yesterday. I took it on my run this morning. Wonderful. Lighter than I thought. Auto-lap and auto-pause are really good features.
In related news, I was right about my iPod. It shorts my distance. The Garmin had me at 6.11 miles at an 8:20 pace. The iPod had me at 5.86 miles at an 8:43 pace. There's a little bit of play because I stopped the iPod a bit later, but that's still not cool. Sounds like calibration time.
Sea Chicken and Teenage Dirtbag are going to laugh at me, but I am probably the least lightweight runner you'll ever find. I am now running with (get this) my Garmin, my heartrate strap, my iPod (complete with heavy Bose earphones) and a fuel belt (it's too hot to run anything past 2 miles in Houston right now).
