There are no options for 2004 Utah or 2009 Utah. Weak.

He doesn't want to be considered a homer.

My vote was 2001 Miami, but no love for the 2002 Ohio State team that went 14-0 and dethroned the then invinible Hurricanes?

          2001 Miami Hurricanes notables:

          Clinton Portis
          Ed Reed
          Bryant Mckinnie
          Jeremy Shockey
          Andre Johnson
          Roscoe Parrish
          Willis Mcgahee
          Najeh Davenport
          Frank Gore
          Jerome Mcdougle
          William Joseph
          Vince Wilfork
          Jonathan Vilma
          DJ Williams
          Mike Rumph
          Phillip Buchanan
          Kellen Winslow
          Sean Taylor
          Antrel Rolle
          Vernon Carey
          Eric Winston

16 first round picks came from this team. After the 2001 season they had 15 players drafted including 6 first rounders.

By far the best team of the past 20 years in my opinion, 2005 USC is 2nd.

This poll reminds me of Waters' ranking of world religions.

The '95 Florida team is one of the top 10 teams of the past 20 years, IMO.

They didn't even deserve to be on the same field as the '95 Nebraska team. That Cornhusker team's closest game was a 35-21 win.

They were dominant defensively and unstoppable offensively. Talk about the NFL prospects all you want, but in terms of the best college football team, '95 Nebraska is at the top.

Was that the team that had Lawrence Phillips on it despite him assaulting his girlfriend?

Yep, but I think Ahman Green was their leading rusher.

One more stat of interest...They beat their opponents by an average score of 53-14 and beat 4 top 10 teams by an average of 49-18.

2001 Miami wasn't too shabby either, beating their opponents by an average of 43-10 although they had to squeak by VT in a 26-24 win - their only game that was within 10 points. 2004 USC had 5 games decided by 10 or less. There was no squeaking done by '95 Nebraska.

I hate all Florida teams, which is one reason I voted for Nebraska. The other reason is that they were absolutely awesome.

That's why I voted for Nebraska first and have Miami '01 second. Not only did Nebraska annhiliate a Florida team that was one of the ten best over the past 20 years, but the 62-24 blowout score doesn't even indicate how one sided the game really was. Nebraska had only one punt, which was in the 4th quarter. Tommie Frazier was intercepted in the end zone, saving a tenth touchdown. Plus the game ended with the Huskers with the ball on the one yard line, one yard short of yet another touchdown. Plus this was before replay, where the replay clearly showed Wuerrfel being sacked in the end zone for a safety, but the refs blew the call. Plus a missed PAT.

Rushing yards: Nebraska 524, Florida minus 24.
