I'm not to fired up for the game (competitively speaking). But I'm planning on going with an old high school friend who has never gone to a BYU game. I'm interested in seeing how Heaps performs. I kind of hope the Ags can get some pressure on him a couple of times to see how her does.

Thanks for the heads up. Although the inane asterisked question will forever be evidenced in your quote, I'll get rid of it.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostFor your own good, please delete the inane asterisked question before 3papa returns and retorts a sarcastic reply You stand a very good chance of being given free tickets, if you show up 30 min before game time. At the most you will pay $20 for LES entry, then pick an open seat.

Debating on whether I should give these tickets up to some actual BYU fans that don't usually go to games or go... with that said, I think New Mexico State will play more competitive than Idaho did. Wouldn't be surprised if New Mexico State hung around for a bit like San Jose State did. They've at least put up a lot of points against other WAC teams, and looked somewhat respectable in the WAC compared to Idaho, and they did beat Minnesota somehow.

Who us? Umm, nothing. Just getting p-u-m-p-e-d for the huge game this weekend. That's it. Move along, now.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWhat's going on here? What were you two talking about??
Did anyone else notice a retro looking Nike (I think) hoodie one of the GAs or non-uniformed players was wearing Saturday? I only saw if for a second. Typical blue with a single white horizontal stripe. I hadn't seen one like it before.
Ha. I just tried to access the byubookstore online. It must be closed for FHE.

I was just thinking out loud about my options for purchasing tickets to the game when I should have been thinking about my cold weather attire. What's going on here? What were you two talking about??Last edited by USUC; 11-14-2011, 08:55 PM.

I am excited for the game only because Heaps is playing.
NMSU has put up some big point totals this year and they have a solid offense. They are ranked 39th in total offense and 13th in passing offense. The problem is they are ranked 111th in total defense. Our defense should be tested a bit.
I expect our offense to run the ball effectively and for Jake to throw for about 220-240 yards and at least 2 tds.*Banned*

I have maybe told this story before, but your post reminds me of it.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View Post1. no one should be purchasing tickets to this game. I tried (unsuccessfully) to give away my tickets last week. That should set the price level just south of $0.00 for this game.
In 1993 BYU played a home game against UTEP, a week after one of the 34-31 losses to Utah. My oldest brother decided not to go and that left me and cougswin with 2 extra tickets we needed to try and sell. I was 15 years old and was told that I got to keep any money I got from the sell, I was ready to be aggressive and make some cold hard ca$h.
We got there early and started pushing them for around face value, which seems to me was in the $20 range, dreaming of fat stacks in my pockets. After getting laughed at a few times, I reluctantly lowered my price to $10 a ticket. I eventually worked my way down to $5 for the pair, the dream of a big bankroll gone forever. I had a couple of kids on the hook and was ready to get that Lincoln and run away, then they said that better tickets were available for cheaper.
With kickoff fast approaching and my dreams dashed I decided that it would be fun to set the tickets on the double yellow line in the middle of the street, on the west side of the stadium. We stood back and watched the tickets sit there for a minute or two, then two kids age 9-12 ran up and grabbed them so excited. It made me happy that at least someone was going to get to use the tickets. However my joy was short lived, their parents saw what they had done and made them return the tickets to the yellow line in the middle of the street.
BYU won that game against UTEP and then should have beaten Ohio State in the Holiday Bowl. Someone, Nowatzke?, had an awful TD drop in the end zone.Get confident, stupid

I tried to give away 2 of my tickets this last week as well without success.
I ended up giving one of them to the poor guy next to me at the turnstiles who had bought a student ticket but hadn't paid the non-student fee that goes with it.

Geeze, I guess I should no more season ticket holders to scoop up unwanted tickets.
I guess the only intriguing thing about the game is Heaps. I even checked the ABC game at night to see if it was better just to meet up with my friend at home and order a pizza. USC/Oregon?

My friend got called in to work so it looks like I'll be watching this game from home on some crappy internet feed that is 2 minutes slow. I don't get why games played on ESPNU aren't also available on ESPN3. If I remember correctly the last game played on ESPNU was broadcast on BYUTVI en espanol.
