A friend sent me a link to a discussion on the MWC Board entitled "6/6/11." it was basically posters in a frenzy over a big announcement from the conference scheduled today. Half of the posters were convinced it was to announce that the conference was going to get a waiver from the BCS to become an AQ conference for two years. How disappointed a lot of them must be. The logo appears to be an homage to my finest Microsoft Paint creations from the late 90s.

Boise is screwed six ways from Sunday unless they somehow get into a different conference. The MWC is headed straight for a cliff.

I like the fact that they have come up with the tagline "this is our time" just as Utah, BYU, and TCU are leaving.

But...

"There's never been a more exciting time to be a part of the Mountain West," Gould noted. "The success our member institutions have enjoyed both athletically and academically and the positive new membership changes on the horizon means we've never been more united. We're proud to state 'This is our time' because we believe our future is unquestionably bright."

Apparently, losing the top 3 programs and replacing them with only ONE of equal value is leading to an "unquestionably bright" future!

Bold, feisty and highly competetive? I see the bold in the logo, but I don't see anything feisty or highly competitive about it. It looks like a highschool logo from about 15 years ago.
