  • MWC Football Schedules...

Only Utah ST is Thurday game for Utah and Friday Game for BYU.

Although it doesnt look right as there are NO thursday games besides Utah's opener against Utah ST.

I thought it was odd that there wasn't any Thursday night games as well. It seemed like last year there was a at least one a week. The conference must be doing away with that.

I love having TCU in November. The game has become huge regardless of when it's scheduled, but Utah always seems to be clicking in the last month of the season.

Hopefully, the conference is getting rid of Thursday night games. College football should only be played on Saturday.

          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Apparently Versus will be showing games from the United Football League on Thursday

Mendenhall isn't as much of a buffoon as some would think.

And in a vacuum where nobody outside the region wastes any time watching it.

The decision to not play on Thursday nights, even if it is the 3rd option football game on a distant cable channel is a silly one by the MWC. They should be running Utah out in front of the biggest audience they get every week. Instead they will hide most the games on Saturday afternoon when they will get little if any attention.

I understand the purist point about wanting games played on Saturday, but if the MWC wants to be visible outside Wyoming and Utah it needs to be on when other conferences aren't.

I understand what you're saying and I actually don't disagree. The conference needs as much exposure as it can get and about the only way to do it is to have Thursday games.

The trouble is that except for the alums of MWC schools, folks outside the "conference footprint" just don't care about MWC football. Nobody along the eastern seaboard cares that Utah kicked the crap out of Alabama in the Sugar Bowl anymore - if they ever did. They wouldn't care if it was any other MWC team that did it. I'd be curious to know what the ratings were for the Utah/TCU matchup compared to whatever the game that was on ESPN that night. (I've googled it but failed to find anything, because I suck at googling for info).

Personally, I'd rather see the confernce put more money into better technology.

Like teleporters? That would be awesome, of course Utah would cheat and use them on plays when you aren't allowed to use them. And don't get me started on how the P10 would challenge BYU's use of them.

This recent discussion of sinking money into technology reminds me of this amazing post by monsterdave last year on CB:

"It's been noted many times over that LDS teaches the war we battle on earth, against satan, continues in the after life. What are the possibilites that the war we battle in the after life, is to prevent Satan and his angels, demons, followers...from revealing massive abilities of technology. How many people would worship Satan if they feared not only his power but his weapons, his technology. How many more people would bow down to him if they thought he could cure all thier illnesses and physical woes by touching them with a magic rod or shot of brilliant light generated from a technoligical advanced machine. Maybe the battle to prove UFOs are in vain. Chances are God and Satan have similar instraments and machines." Monsterdave, April 22, 2008

Speaking of the USFL, it looks like this is where Mike Vick is going to end up.

That is awesome and I don't have a clue what he is talking about. That makes it even awesomer. If that is even possible.
