  • Poll: Are you happy about the Indy/WCC News

After reading the jubilation on CB, I thought I would take the pulse here. If I was a Y fan, I think I would have some trepidation about the events of the day.

Steelblue(?)'s numb describes it pretty well.

I, too, would definitely have some intrepidationism.

I have a bad feeling about it, but I'll withhold final judgement until I see the 2011 schedule, and any bowl or BCS deals.

Honest question: Why would this indicate they are moving on to the Big 12? Wouldn't it be easier to stay in the MWC if they were that confident a Big 12 invite is coming?

Not if they want to move for 2011. They had to resign from the MWC by tomorrow.

To be the Big 12 replacement for Nebraska a year from now, the move had to be made today.

I sure hope BYU doesn't get burned when the Big 12 decides they don't want to put up with the no-Sunday play policy in all the non-football sports.

I'm neutral about the move. It isn't ideal.

If they do play an independent schedule in 2011, I don't know if I plan on renewing season tickets unless ND is coming to town.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

                        Timing.

If BYU were to stay in the MWC, the timing of an invite/announcemnt has to be right, or they'd have to sit another year in the MWC.

If by the end of the 2010 football season / VERY early 2011, the Big-12 gets whatever money it's going to out of Colorado & Nebraska, and decides that losing the championship game is too costly, they invite BYU to make sure they keep the game. BYU could drop the WCC & all their non-conference games and join the Big 12 with no strings attached.

Every team that's discussed playing us in 2011 & 2012 has already taken this into consideration, as has the WCC for all their plans.

Do you honestly feel like this?

This year's home schedule is really something horrendous to behold. If there was ever a time not to renew, this would have been the year.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

There are no 1-AA's this year. I can pretty much guarantee that there will be next year (if they play an independent schedule).

Look for a 6 year deal with Notre Dame

to come out soon (in football of course). At least I have heard that from a 'source'. Not sure how reliable, but he does have connections to the program.
