I think B is the one that makes the most sense.

you have to split up the CA schools. nobody wants to lose their recruiting base and if you turn it into CA vs the world there would be absolutely no reason or incentive for a high quality recruit to leave California, not that there is now, but perception is everything, right?

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

It looks like it will probably be B.

Texas declines invitation to join Pac-10: Result will allow UA to keep valued ties to California

While Texas all but blew up the superconference plan of Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott, opting Monday to remain in the Big 12, Arizona will remain closely aligned with its critical recruiting and alumni base in California.

The Wildcats and ASU could even become divisional partners with the Pac-10's four California schools while the Pacific Northwest schools join Colorado and Utah, expected as a 12th addition, in a Northern Division.
I bet it becomes a real dog fight over who has to take Utah and Colorado.

This is known as the "zipper" formation, and the one that gives everyone a viable shot at playing in SoCal every year.

I am going to be really upset if the LA schools aren't split up and Washington/Oregon don't remain in the same division.

However a North/South split pretty much assures Oregon a minimum or 4 division titles in the next 5 years. So I guess that would ease the annoyance somewhat.

A north-south split has Oregon sitting pretty.

I thought I heard a while back that they would split the Pac so California schools would be in both divisions.

Come on... When Utah plays at home they win. When Utah plays at Oregon Oregon wins. Utah and Oregon will pretty much split the division for the next 5 years.
