Yes, that sucks, but at least BYU and Utah have "normal" bye weeks (Utah at the end of September; BYU at the end of October) while TCU has their bye week before the final game of the season.

That's odd, Usually TCU has their BYE right before they play BYU.

I am pissed that the TCU game falls on the 6th of Nov. Looks like I won't be in attendance to that game. That is Mrs. Hot Lunch's birthday. 2 years ago when it was a Thursday night game it was on her birthday as well.

That isn't correct. Wasn't TCU's bye week the first week of the season last year?

They are the face of the conference right now. They made an incredible run last year and return almost everybody from last years team. They will start the season ranked in the top 10. The conference is trying to promote them the only way they can.

You may not be able to attend, but at least the date is good luck.

Why didn't they do that for Utah last year then?

Utah didn't have the team returning last year that TCU has this year. There were a lot question marks for Utah starting the season last year. TCU has one, who is going to rush the qb the way Jerry Hughes did. I don't think anyone expected Utah start the season in the top 10 last year and make another run for a BCS game.

I don't know if I am in total agreement with HL here. I also believe BYU and Utah are the two biggest TV draws for the .mtn. With most of their fans having access to the channel, what better way to get ratings than to leave them on that channel?

I have nothing to back this up. It is just what I think is playing into the decision, along with HL's point.

And doesn't CBS-CS have some sort of agreement with the service academies (which would explain why AFA has so many games on CBS-CS)?

I think that's a great point about the mtn, BTW.
