Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I haven't seen one of those BP nominations.

An oscar nomination related to Tropic Thunder? Wow.

Wow.. I have seen 2 movies from that entire list.

Dark Knight was 3.5 stars out of 4 for me
Benjamin Button was 2.5 stars out of 4.

As predicted, almost a complete shutout for Revolutionary Road.

This is literally a titanic oversight.

I just saw Frost/Nixon it was much better than I thought it would be.

Also I had read some think that Tom Cruise had a long shot chance of being nominated for his role in Tropic Thunder. My BIL just gave me a copy of the DVD maybe I will have to watch it again and re-judge it.

One thing to consider, Oscar loves to land in groups.

Look for a possible strong showing from The Reader.

I am still weary of hitching my star to Slumdog Millionaire, simply because, as I stated before, Oscar usually does not love foreign films. Maybe this one bucks the trend, though.

Will be interesting to read the traders over the next month to see what they say. Now the real advertising wars will heat up.

I have seen three of those movies. Doubt, which was very good. Hard to understadn how every actor gets nominated but niehter the director or the movie gets nominated.

I also saw the visitor, and while I thought the guy did a fantastic jobm I would not have expected a nomination because it is an odd little movie.

I also saw Dark Knight, which was fun, but not great, IMO.

All the others will wait for disc.
                PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Life is Beautiful lost Best Pic, although I thought it deserved it.

Benigni won for Actor, though, which was cool. I remember him bouncing around up to the stage and basically being crazy during his speech.

I will. I rarely go to theaters. I am mainly a DVD guy.

Tom Cruise was far and away the best part of that movie. I thought his character was hilarious.

Most undeserving best actor winner ever, imho.

I agree he was a great character, but I thought he showed up in the movie a bit too much. He's a one-joke character, and while it's a funny joke, it didn't need to be retold so often. I'm glad Downey got a nom though. 2nd best comedy of the year, imo.
