    Opening betting line for BYU v Utah

    BYU: -7.5 points.

    For comparison:

    2008: +6.5
    2007: -4.5
    2006: -10.5


    Also the TCU line for this week opened at -42.
    Boise St -10.5 versus UNR.

      I think MRD will find the the money line attractive:

      opening:
      Utah +210
      BYU -260

      So the implied probability of BYU winning is 68%-72%.

          Only 7.5?

          What have the oddsmakers seen this year that makes them think BYU is more than a touchdown better than Utah?

            On paper we are just flat out better. Our offense is better than the Utes and our defense is equal to the Utes.

            Without the feeling that Whitt can outcoach Bronco in big games, I don't think anyone would be that surprised at what the spread is.

              Plus, wasn't 8 points your prediction for the game? You could be an oddsmaker.

                  I guessed the line would be 6 and that would be a good bet as I think we win by 8. Thanks for noticing. Most ignore my predictions.

                            In Total Defense, Utah was 12 before the TCU game and 29 after. SDSU moved them up to 23.
