You're just mad because I beat you in Dungeons and Dragons again. Can we still be friends if I admit publicly that you are fantastic at LARPing?

Like you know that.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostExcept that BYU cares so much for his well-being that they will not even allow him to finish his degree right now. The vast majority of individuals 18-24 do consume alcohol and/or have premarital sex. It is comments such as saying someone "lacks morals" because they have premarital sex or have a drink that I don't want to immerse my son too much into the LDS church. I don't want him to think that having a glass or craft beer or wine with a meal means someone "lacks morals."Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostYou have obviously lived a very sheltered Utah based life. Do you really think that every non-lds person between 18-24 consume alcohol, have premarital sex and lack morals?
If you believe that only LDS people can follow these rules, why wouldn't you become even more immersed in the religion, especially passing these values on to your children?

It is not a good place for nearly every non-LDS person. If you had to ask me to put percentage of the non-LDS population that BYU is a good place for, I would put the percentage at about the percentage of LDS students at BYU, 98.7%.
For example, I absolutely acknowledge that BYU was the great place for Trent Hosick even thought he was not LDS. It was an oversight on my part to not state "BYU is a horrible place for nearly every non-LDS person."

I'm probably closer to the weirdo category than normal and you were able to mesh with me IRL. You underestimate your ability to bridge the gap with weirdos.Originally posted by fusnik View PostOk.
Remind me in the future that you aren't normal and I wouldn't mesh with you well IRL.
Enjoy your braided belt, I'm sure it'll make a comeback.
I don't own nor do I enjoy a braided belt.

See? You don't really need me to do your heavy lifting for you.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostSince you are derelict in your logic fail posting about that particular cougjunkie post, let me do your job for you. It wasn't a partial logic fail, it was a full logic fail. Just because you think the antiquated parts of the honor code (i.e. alcohol and premarital sex) are unrealistic to be followed unless you have a spiritual basis for them, it doesn't follow that you are okay for your child, or an athlete for that matter, to consume illegal drugs.

Everybody holds their kids to different standards, especially when it comes to athletes. For example, funk is only a fan of some celebrity chick if she has sex with his favorite hockey player. Probably not a scenario he envisions with his kid. (or his wife!)

The smart posters can clearly identify when CJ is trolling and just ignore it.

They are not my enemies, they are my people. Although I did consume alcohol during the 18-24 time period and did not identify as LDS, those weirdos are closer to my people than the normal people.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostThis doesn't even make sense.
So now you are trying to make enemies with Commando, Shaka, and all the other 30+ year old virgins on the board?
