I wasn't throwing Heaps under the bus earlier but he looks like crap his QB rating is like 110th in the nation, he misses passes badly, he looks a lot like a young John Beck. It will help him if Doman keeps running the ball.

I think that is a big part of the problem, our passing game, or at least the ideology behind it, is to run play action. For play action to work, you have to be able to run the ball. Having Kariya healthy who is good for 3-6 yards a carry is helpful and should loosen things up a bit.

That was the best development from the UCF game I think -- seeing BYU able to run Kariya straight ahead with a little effectiveness against a respectable defense in UCF.

Time for Heaps to step up this week.

KVN is a beast. On Sampsons interception he showed some nice hops to tip the ball and his closing speed on that late game sack was impressive.

Usually yes. At least that is how I have always understood it.

Muehlman was credited with a sack in the UCF game so not sure why KVN wasn't. My only guess is that if the QB loses possession in the process of being sacked, where the sack causes the fumble you get the sack and forced fumble. But if a QB is just stripped and it is not in the process of being sacked you don't get it.

Holy crapola. I have never shown up to the stadium without blue on and neither have my kids or grandkids.
