Do they have them waiting at most High School games? Same as rodeo. Need to be there. In urban areas you could easily dispatch them if you have an emergency. We always have ours at the game, there not at practices. But a head coach has to know first aid. And with cell phones easy to get them there. At Jr Simplots Alma mater there was a serious injury and the ambulance wasn’t at the game. Takes a few minutes to get there.
we had a player probably lowered his head. Tackled player then got hit into his own teammate. Told umpteen times, seen films on it to keep your head up. Coaches from other team as well as ours went over to him and a few fans told them to leave. Some fans may have wanted to get the game going, Game was finished. Assuming it was stinger he was sat up on chair and watched from chair rest of game. After game went to er then life flighted to Boise.
Broke some vertebrae. He was in Boise for a couple weeks before being flown to primary children’s. Was there for some time. After about a month finally out of hospital. Was going down for rehab for a couple months. Travel for rehab done now. May have some in home rehab now. He is walking normal now. May be back on football field. Manager of basketball team as strength not totally back to play basketball yet. He did baptisms for dead and is Teachers Quorum President now. May have wondered if he would survive he sure has.
If I was an emt I would always be second guessing myself. They do there best on the spot to relieve suffering and save many lives. There are times though they make mistakes. Thinking this was a stinger, for neck injuries aren’t you to never to move the body? They didn’t have floor boards for him to lay on. So he rode to the hospital after the game. Goof ups on neck injuries there.
