  • JUCO no longer counts against NCAA eligibility?

    https://www.sportico.com/law/analysi...on-1234821169/

NCAA football seems headed for NFL minor league status. It may soon be possible to get 2 years at a JC, build your brand and then hit the NCAA for 4 relatively lucrative years depending on performance. For some this could be like a 6 year minor league career where they don't necessarily need to even land in the NFL to set themselves up with a good nest egg.

So, BYU potentially has Retzlaff for 3 more years.

It was an interesting opinion to read. I think it could be beneficial to the lower tiers of NCAA.

So how long does it take for this kind of thing to get resolved? Can other players jump on board this ruling, at least until it is taken up the chain and confirmed or overturned?
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Not sure, but players are already jumping on it:

The ruling currently only applies to Pavia. Anyone else that wants to take advantage of it currently is going to have to file their own lawsuit.

That's too much. This is about out of control.

I love Jake Retzlaff and that was much easier to say when I believed next year would be his final year as BYU quarterback.

Throw in two years for a mission as well.

It really was great for BYU back in the day. Plus, put the family name back on it!

Yeah, Ricks turned a mediocre QB into the top defensive player... yes, the great Jason Buck.
