Hypothetical BYU scheduling as an independent

So take Navy's sched for next year and replace those teams with three WAC teams and you'd get:

Maryland / Wake / Notre Dame / AFA / SMU / Fresno State / Duke/ Army / Hawaii / La Tech / Utah / Utah State

that's not a bad schedule AT ALL.

If the truck was strictly used for Football you would be correct. But that fact that KBYU and BYUtv are seen in 60 million households worldwide will help off set those costs. Not to mention I am sure when it was purchased they had the idea of leasing it out in mind. If ESPN is leasing it that will also help.

OTOH, I really find it hard to believe that a truck, regardless of how much it costs, would put ESPN hot on the cougar's trail. Come on, a truck?!? One truck?

Depending on the randomness of scheduling and how good teams vary from year to year, that's generally a better schedule than BYU has ever played. And with ESPN helping scheduling, it's very doable...

This might work if you move those P12, B10 and ACC games to the first 5 weeks of the season instead of the last 3. No chance that they agree to those games in late November.

Because remember BYU has their own tv networks and I believe the church still owns a portion of KSL so they will be using the truck for more than just sports. That is how they were able to justify it.
