Here is what you should be looking at........AP Poll and Coaches Poll. Those are currently how the trophies are distributed.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostAhhh.. I just saw utah at 5. I guess the ELO CHESS is what I should be looking at.
There is no ELO CHESS trophy. Although ELO deserves a trophy for the rad work it did on the Xanadu soundtrack, forever altering the future of roller skating parties.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Do you know how easy it is to make a trophy? I hope there's a NC trophy at the parade. That would be sweet.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostHere is what you should be looking at........AP Poll and Coaches Poll. Those are currently how the trophies are distributed.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

A mass mockery for next year's U/Y game in Provo.
As many people as possible bringing championship banners, championship trophies, etc. Something along those lines.
Let's get this fleshed out and coordinated asap. November is just around the corner.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Seattle Ute is always good for a great laugh
It is so delicious that BYU has a national championship recognized as legitimate as it was given (along with a championship trophy) by the appropriate body that recognizes the champion. On the other hand, Utah is a bridesmaid but not the bride. The bottom line is that they CANNOT legitimately claim they are the national champions. They have not been recognized as such by any of the accepted measuring yards for recognizing who the actual champion is for the year. This will always be a precious thing. Yes it is PRECIOUS to me, my precious. They will always be begging for recognition of it through people like SU, only to be vaived off summarily as they should be at this point.
Utah had a great season, but let it end there. SU is trying to point to computer rankings alone to show that Utah is the NC. But computer rankings alone have never been an accepted measuring rod in determining who wins the NC. They are a tool in helping figure out who is the best, but there is too much subjective determination that goes into it, and because of that, there is a recognition that a human voting element must be present in the calculation to make judgment calls in subjectively comparing some teams to others due to the shortfalls of looking purely at objective statistical data.
But go ahead SU, keep clamoring, it is good fun for us. Hey while you are at it, since you only want to recognize a part of the BCS calculation for your claim that Utah is the champion, why don't you start claiming that BYU really won its bowl game. Shoot, BYU was winning well into the 3rd quater. You can just look at part of the game and say "yeah, BYU wins." We know if you look at the whole game (what the accepted measuring rod is for determining the winner) then the SU logic problems kick in. Or maybe the next time Utah wins the statistical battle in a game but loses the score you can draw on your Ute NC logic to claim Utah really won the game because you are only looking at the objective statistical data, That should work for you since you seem to be ok with ignoring the more intangible subjective reasons for why Utah lost (momentum shifts, untimely turnover, etc.). You are precious.
