Sanctions coming? Wondering if Pitt AD Steve Pederson has learned anything. I see some parallels between Nebraska with Frank Solich and Pittsburgh with Dave Wannstedt.
Frank Solich - former Nebraska football player and head coach
1998: 9-4
1999: 12-1
2000: 10-2
2001: 11-2
2002: 7-7
2003: 9-3
Dismissed by AD Steve Pederson. Record under Frank Solich (58-19) 75.3%
Nebraska - previous 6 years before Solich (69-6) 92.0%
Dave Wannstedt - former Pittsburgh player and head coach
2005: 5-6
2006: 6-6
2007: 5-7
2008: 9-4
2010: 10-3
2011: 7-5
Dismissed by AD Steve Pederson. Record under Dave Wannstedt (42-31) 57.5%
Pittsburgh - previous 6 years before Wannstedt (44-29) 60.3%“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

I don't know why, but Frank Solich reminds me of Colonel Sherman T. Potter.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostWondering if Pitt AD Steve Pederson has learned anything. I see some parallels between Nebraska with Frank Solich and Pittsburgh with Dave Wannstedt.

The Miami coaching search has narrowed down to Al Golden, Randy Edsall, and Marc Trestman.

Okay, the Stoops thing begs a couple of questions:Originally posted by Maximus View PostNow the rumors suggest stoops will be going to Florida.

Why would you want Stoops over Peterson? Peterson is a better coach and has done more with less than anyone in college football. Stoops has one national title but has a rep of blowing big games.
Second....Why would Stoops leave OU for Florida? That seems like a lateral move. Unless he'd rather live in Florida than Norman, Oklahoma. Well, maybe I just answered my own question.
If the rumors are true and Meyer was politely asked to step aside, then why would Stoops go to that kind of a situation. Meyer was there for 5 years and won 2 championships and he's shown the door?
Is Stoops salary pretty much on par with what Florida would pay him?

him?
Yes.
I went to Norman once and I was bored in about 20 minutes. If you've spent a decade there and you're not from there I can't imagine wanting to stay there permanently.
Also not sure if you're aware but Stoops was the DC at Florida for three years under Spurrier so he's got previous ties to Gainesville.Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī
