The Mountain West announced its 2009 All-Conference football teams and individual award winners today as selected by the nine head coaches and select media panel. TCU quarterback Andy Dalton was chosen as the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, while TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes was named MWC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. TCU kick returner Jeremy Kerley earned the MWC Special Teams Player of the Year award, while Wyoming quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels was honored as the MWC Freshman of the Year. Gary Patterson of TCU was selected as the MWC Coach of the Year.

You have to believe that in the end they placed more emphasis on the success of TCU as a team, and in Dalton coming up big in big games, than they did in Halls numbers which were accumulated in large measure in the midst of beating down inferior competition. That is no slight to Hall, it is not an insult to say you played great in any game. I think this is just TCU's year, however, based on what they have done.

This is a good result. I could not in good conscience give it to Hall after what Dalton and TCU did.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

TCU had 9 first team selections, which was nearly as many as Utah (6) and BYU (5) combined. They've dominated everything.

Can't really argue with any of those selections.
