The Golden State dream team sure got off to a great start last night. The Spurs outrebounded them by 20, and there wasn't a huge shooting percentage disparity overall, 48% vs. 47%. Even if the Golden State had shot the same percentage from 3 as the Spurs, they would have still lost the game.

It's only one game, and I imagine that a 20 rebound disadvantage will be rare, even with a team that can't rebound or really defend the rim.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

The only thing more predictable than Golden State taking some time to jell was the media and the twittersphere blowing their early struggles way out of proportion.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

The shooting percentages didnt feel like they were that close. I think it was the disparity form three that made it feel so disparate. But the rebounding difference was stark. I don't see how GS easily fixes that problem, at least not against a team like the Spurs.
      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I think KD defensively will hurt GS. KD has never played defense let alone be forced to defend on the block.

I also think the person most hurt by KD will be Draymond. If Draymond can't do Draymond things like lead the break, help side defend and rim protect, how valuable is he?

There was a few play sequence last night that I thought showed what could be the Dubs problem, KD forced to defend the block, lets his guy score, next play down Dray fronts KD doesn't help backside, two plays later, KD rebounds pushes a fast break with Ian Clarke for a missed three.

If KD isn't there and it's Dray helping and leading that fast break I think this team would be better.

They'll still win 60-65 games and be in a great position to win it all but KD probably chose the worst team to join for his playing style.

It will be interesting to watch. I still think this team gets 65-70 wins.

If they go 65-70 and win another championship they are the second greatest team of all time no question and will still have a legit shot next year and a chance to be considered the GOAT.

            The Bulls went 72-69-62 / 3 rings.

            The Dubs 67-73-? / 1 ring.

Crazy because I hate the Warriors so bad.

I love this theory that Chris Paul is playing ridiculously good basketball this season because he has always been pretty much blind on the court and now after his LASIK eye surgery he can finally play up to his potential. Nobody ever thought to ask him if maybe he could play better if he could see what the hell is happening out there on the court.

Paul has had about 3 bad games this year and i think I've seen or noticed box scores on all three and haven't noticed anything else from him. I honestly thought he was having a down year.

His PER is only 31.5 and TS at 63%

20 points, 20 assists, zero TOs for Chris Paul tonight.

Never been done since the NBA started recording turnovers 40 years ago.

Now that he's not blind anymore he's pretty good.

Westbrook had the quad-double tonight in his big show off game. Huge!

The game was very entertaining, in part because of Westbrook constantly jawing with the Warriors and telling his teammates not to speak with Durant. KD managed to rise above the cruel snub, going off for 40, including 13/16 from the floor. Perhaps my favorite moment was a Durant trey, followed by one of the funniest traveling violations ever, by Westbrook. I can't remember if it was that play or a charge that got him his tenth turnover and the quad. His boneheaded violation appears at the end.

Ridiculous. Sometimes I think Russell Westbrook is mentally ill.

I agree, in a clinical sense. But its likely what makes him such a great player; there just isnt a normal internal dialogue going on there. It's all ball and nothing else.

The sad part is that they only blew the whistle after at least 6 steps.

Draymond Green just had a triple double in the win over the Grizzlies (the only team to have beaten the Warriors twice this season). The remarkable thing is that he got the triple double despite scoring only four points. He set the franchise record with 10 steals tonight.
