  • Shawn Bradley and his bike

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/69147770@N00/75637813

Saturday on the first climb we passed a really tall guy who was on the biggest bike I have ever seen. The guess in the group was that it was Mark Eaton but I learned yesterday it was Shawan Bradley. He made it 160 miles before he abandoned which is pretty good since their is no way he could ever get any kind of draft off anybody.

Funny you should post that. This month's Bicycling magazine has an article about Bill Walton and his 72cm bike: http://www.bicycling.com/news/featur...es/bill-walton. At 7'6", Bradley has a lot bigger bike (80cm) than Walton, who is 6'11". Those are crazy tall bikes.

So the bike is huge, but I still can't get over how little his wife is. It's like a clash of fairy tales: Thumbellina meets the giant from Jack and the Beanstock.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I met them in the SLC airport a long time ago. She is around 5 ft tall. Crazy size difference.

If she is only around 5 feet, the ratio of their heights is almost exactly the same as someone my height (about 5'9") with a woman who is 3'10".

5'3" IIRC. I'm just wondering why she's not wearing her garments. I'm legitimately concerned for her spiritual welfare.

I just want to see what the lower boundary is. Kind of like the "half your age plus 7" rule. If I start dating a 4 foot tall woman, and someone makes a insensitive crack about it, I can now say that I fall within the guidelines established by the Bradleys.

If you start dating a 4 foot tall woman my guess is your wife will make an insensitive remark and the crack will be the sound of your skull meeting a hard object.

I have so many questions that don't need to be asked or answered.

Are you sure that's his wife? The caption doesn't identify her. Could be a groupie or the bike store's wife, employee, etc.

(and, yes, I know your comment wasn't serious...)

Yeah, I actually thought the same thing (that that isn't his wife) before pellegrino posted about the woman. But I still wanted to call that woman out for dressing immodestly. In the other pictures she doesn't stand by Shawn.
